The Shadow at the Water Source (Nepal)
Around 20 years ago, in a quiet mountain village called Dharapani in Nepal, life was difficult but peaceful.
The biggest problem in the village was water.
There was only one source—a natural spring deep inside the forest, known as a “Pahdera” (water source).
Every morning, before sunrise, women would walk through the forest to collect water. If you arrived late, you would return empty.
The New Bride
A young woman named Geeta had recently married into the village. She wasn’t used to this life yet, but she was learning quickly.
One night, she woke up suddenly.
The house was completely silent.
She assumed it was morning.
There were no clocks back then.
So she picked up her metal water pot and headed toward the forest.
The Silent Path
The path was dark and cold.
The trees stood tall like silent watchers.
Strange sounds echoed through the forest.
Still, she walked forward.
Something Was Wrong
When she reached the water source, she stopped.
It was empty.
No women.
No voices.
Just silence.
But then—
She heard it.
Splash… splash… splash…
Someone was washing clothes.
The Girl by the Water
Geeta moved closer.
There, near the water, sat a girl.
She was washing clothes slowly.
Her long black hair covered her face.
Something felt… wrong.
Geeta asked softly,
“Did you come early too?”
No reply.
The Horror Revealed
Geeta stepped closer.
And then she noticed—
The girl’s arms were too long.
Unnaturally long.
Stretching far beyond normal.
Then suddenly…
The girl stopped.
And slowly turned her head toward Geeta.
The Face
Geeta’s breath stopped.
The girl’s face was terrifying—
Eyes completely black
Skin pale and wet
A twisted smile
Something dark… like blood… on her face
Then she spoke—
“Why did you come… so early…?”
Her voice echoed strangely.
The Escape
Geeta dropped her pot and ran.
She ran through the forest in panic.
Behind her—
Something followed.
She could feel it getting closer.
The Final Glimpse
She looked back.
And what she saw—
That girl was not running…
She was floating in the air.
Coming straight toward her.
The Truth
Geeta reached home and fainted.
Later, the elders told her—
Years ago, a girl had drowned in that very water source.
Since then…
She appears before sunrise.
Waiting.
The Warning
Even today, villagers say—
Never go to the Pahdera before dawn.
Because at that time…
That place does not belong to the living.
