The Woman by the Peepal Tree – A Terrifying Night I’ll Never Forget

REAL CREEPY INCIDENCE HAPPENED WHILE GOING TO SISTERS HOME

In a small, quiet village surrounded by hills and dense forests, lived a boy named Sabin. Life had never been easy for him. His family was poor, and every day was a struggle. Their house was made of mud, with a leaking roof during the rainy season. His father worked as a laborer in the fields, and his mother did small household jobs in nearby homes to support the family.

Despite all the hardships, Sabin had one big dream—to study hard and change his life.

He was a student of class 10 and was known in his school for his dedication and intelligence. His teachers often encouraged him, saying, “Sabin, one day your hard work will make you successful.”

Finally, after months of preparation, his final exams were over. For the first time in weeks, Sabin felt relaxed. He decided to spend his holidays at his elder sister’s house, which was located in another village beyond the hills.

But reaching there wasn’t easy.

There were no buses or proper roads leading to his sister’s village. The only way to reach was by walking through a long, narrow forest path. His mother packed some fruits and vegetables in a small cloth bag for him.

“Be careful on the way,” she said with concern.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” Sabin replied with a smile.

Early in the morning, he started his journey.

The path was beautiful at first. Birds were chirping, the air was fresh, and sunlight filtered through the trees. But as hours passed, the path became more difficult. The forest grew denser, and the surroundings became quieter.

By the time evening approached, Sabin realized he still had a long way to go.

The sun slowly disappeared behind the hills, and darkness began to spread across the forest. A cold breeze started blowing, and the cheerful atmosphere turned into something unsettling.

Sabin quickened his pace.

After walking for a while in the dark, he noticed something ahead of him.

Someone was walking.

It was a woman.

She was dressed in a white sari, walking slowly along the path. Her long hair covered most of her face, and in the dim light, her features were hard to recognize.

Sabin felt relieved.

“At least I’m not alone anymore,” he thought.

He hurried up and approached her.

“Excuse me, where are you going?” he asked.

Without turning back, the woman replied softly, “Ahead… towards the village.”

Her voice was calm, but something about it felt strange.

“I’m also going there. My sister lives in that village,” Sabin said.

The woman didn’t respond.

They began walking together.

The forest had now become completely silent. Only the sound of their footsteps and the rustling of leaves could be heard. Sabin tried to start a conversation again.

“Do you take this route often?”

No answer.

Now Sabin felt uneasy.

He glanced down—and what he saw made his heart race.

The woman’s feet were not touching the ground properly.

It was as if she was floating.

A chill ran down his spine.

“Maybe it’s just my imagination,” he tried to convince himself. But deep inside, fear was growing.

After some time, they reached a familiar place—a large, ancient Peepal tree. Sabin knew that his sister’s village was very close now.

The tree looked eerie in the moonlight. Its twisted branches stretched out like hands, and a strange silence surrounded it.

Suddenly, the woman stopped.

Sabin stopped too.

“What happened?” he asked nervously.

Slowly… very slowly… the woman turned around.

Sabin froze.

Her face was horrifying.

Her skin was pale, almost lifeless. Her eyes glowed faintly in the dark, and her lips were unnaturally dark. A wide, terrifying smile spread across her face.

“Why did you come here?” she asked in a deep, echoing voice.

Sabin’s body went numb.

“I… I’m going to my sister’s house…” he stammered.

The woman began to laugh.

A loud, chilling laugh that echoed through the forest.

And then—

She started rising into the air.

Before Sabin could react, she vanished into thin air.

Sabin screamed.

He turned around and ran as fast as he could. His heart pounded wildly, and his legs trembled with fear. He didn’t dare look back.

After what felt like forever, he finally reached his sister’s house. He knocked on the door frantically.

“Didi! Open the door!”

His sister opened the door and was shocked to see him in such a state.

“Sabin! What happened?”

He rushed inside, breathing heavily, his body shaking.

“There… there was a woman…” he said.

He told her everything—the silent woman, the floating steps, the horrifying face, and how she disappeared near the Peepal tree.

His sister’s expression turned serious.

“You came from that path? Near the Peepal tree?” she asked.

“Yes…” Sabin replied.

She took a deep breath.

“People say… years ago, a woman died near that tree. Since then, her spirit wanders there at night. Many have seen her… but not everyone survives such encounters.”

Sabin felt cold.

“Then why didn’t she harm me?” he asked quietly.

“Maybe… you were lucky,” his sister said.

That night, Sabin couldn’t sleep. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw that terrifying face again.

The next morning, some villagers also spoke to him. They confirmed the same story. That Peepal tree was known for strange and supernatural incidents.

After his holidays ended, Sabin returned home—but he was no longer the same.

The brave boy who once walked fearlessly through the forest now avoided that path completely.

Years passed, but that night never left his memory.

Even today, people say—

If you walk alone at night near that Peepal tree…

You might not be alone.

Because somewhere in the darkness…

A woman in white is still waiting.

Watching.

Walking.

And choosing her next companion.
